The Kromski Brake Band Set contains all components for the Scotch tension braking system of a Kromski spinning wheel. The brake band rests on the bobbin and applies slight braking – this creates the difference between flyer and bobbin speed that winds on the yarn. The set replaces the complete set of brake components at once.
The Scotch Tension Principle
With single drive, the flyer is driven and the bobbin is braked by a separate brake band. The braking strength determines how firmly the finished yarn is wound on. A too-loose brake band leads to sluggish uptake, a too-tight one to excessive tension. This set allows the braking system to be completely renewed.
