The Kromski Extra-Fast Whorl has the highest gear ratio in the Kromski range. It enables spinning extremely fine lace weight yarns – with minimal treadling, many twists per centimetre of yarn are produced. The small whorl diameter drives the flyer faster than any other whorl variant.
Peak Performance for Fine Spinners
Lace spinning is a discipline for the patient: gossamer-thin threads, highly twisted, even and stable. The extra-fast whorl is the precision tool for this. A few treadle strokes set the flyer to a high speed – ideal for merino lace, cashmere or cotton in the finest weights.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which yarn weights is the extra-fast whorl suitable for? Lace weight and very fine fingering weight yarns. For DK or worsted, the standard whorl is recommended.
How do I change the whorl? The whorl sits on the flyer shaft and is held by the drive cord tension. When changing: remove the drive cord, swap the whorl, reattach the cord and adjust tension.
