The flyer hooks on the Ashford Fantasia guide yarn from the orifice onto the bobbin and are subject to friction with every metre spun. This replacement set of plastic hooks lets you quickly restore smooth yarn travel when existing hooks show grooves or sharp edges that catch the yarn.
When Hooks Need Replacing
Worn hooks are a common but often overlooked source of yarn breakage and uneven spinning. If your yarn snags, pills, or breaks at a specific hook position, inspect the hook closely for grooves or burrs. Plastic hooks are gentler on fine fibres than metal hooks and are easy to swap out without tools.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many hooks are in the set? The set contains enough hooks to replace all positions on the standard Fantasia flyer. Check the product description for the exact count.
Are plastic hooks as durable as metal? For fine and medium fibres, plastic hooks wear evenly and last well. For very coarse or abrasive fibres, metal hooks may last longer.
