The Large Jumbo Flyer Set for the Ashford Minstrel is the premium option for spinning very thick yarns. The extra-wide orifice accepts the thickest singles and corespun yarns, while the dedicated large-capacity bobbins hold generous quantities of bulky fibre before needing to be emptied.
When Jumbo Is Not Enough
For super bulky, extreme art yarn, or very thick corespun yarns, the standard jumbo flyer can sometimes be limiting. The large jumbo flyer set expands the orifice further and uses larger bobbins, giving you more room and more capacity for the most ambitious chunky projects. It pairs well with a slow whorl for gentle, controlled twist in thick fibres.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the Jumbo Flyer Set and the Large Jumbo Flyer Set? The large jumbo set has a wider orifice and larger bobbins, suited for extreme yarn weights that exceed what the standard jumbo flyer can accommodate.
Can I switch between flyer sizes on the Minstrel? Yes, flyer sets are designed to be interchangeable, allowing you to adapt your wheel to a wide range of spinning projects.
